New faces, fierce matches, and a future wide open

The MLBB Academy League Malaysia (MAL MY) returns for Season 3, continuing its mission to bridge grassroots talent with the professional esports scene. Organized by MOONTON Games and IO Esports, this season offers a $20,000 prize pool and a coveted promotion slot to MPL Malaysia Season 16.

Season 3 introduces a dual-conference format: the Challenger Conference, featuring top teams from Season 2 and Open Qualifiers, and the Affiliated Conference, comprising six junior teams from MPL Malaysia Season 15. The Regular Season spans two stages, Stage 1 (April 12–May 6) with intra-conference BO3 round-robins, and Stage 2 (May 12–22) where top teams from both conferences compete. The top six from the Challenger and top four from the Affiliated Conference advance to the Playoffs.

This season’s leveling up big time for inclusivity — we’ve got the all-female squad Johor Angels and the college crew MSL x UITM stepping into the arena, with a record-breaking 15 women athletes in the mix. The Playoffs are set for June 26–29, and it’s all about climbing the ranks: the champ secures a spot in MPL Malaysia Season 16, while the runner-up goes head-to-head with the 9th-placed MPL team in a high-stakes 'Challenger vs Defender' showdown.

MAL MY Season 3 exemplifies Malaysia's commitment to nurturing diverse esports talent and providing clear pathways to professional play.
