Riot Games invests in esports in EMEA!

It is no secret that Riot Games is widely considered a pillar of the esports’ ecosystem. With games such as League of Legends and Valorant, the American editor has been a reference since the early years 2010, reaching the level of circuits like Counter-Strike, Rocket League and Dota 2.

That being said, it remains tough to manage such a wide scene, with leagues all over the globe - from Korean to North-America, China, Latin America or Europe. And although the places-to-be for esports are considered to be Asia, North-America and the old continent, it is indeed a permanent challenge for Riot Games to maintain a balance between all those leagues.

As the Worlds 2023 just took place in Korea, the American studio is focusing its attention on the EMEA region (Europe, Middle-East, Africa). After announcing that the Worlds 2024 would be organised in London, Riot Games also unveiled the creation of a new venue.

Called the Riot Games Arena, this venue is the famous Berlin-based LEC Studio, which will be granted a makeover and a few changes in 2024. This announcement underlines the sustainable investments Riot Games intends to make in EMEA - some good news for the region.
