Bordeaux is now a stronghold for the French video game industry

The latest chapter of the "Assassin's Creed" saga was primarily developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux studio. The latter thus became renowned as a stronghold for the French video game industry.

Bordeaux has evolved into a hub for the French video game industry. A clear indication of this transformation is the launch of the latest installment in the "Assassin's Creed" series, developed for the first time in local studios by Ubisoft.

As a reminder, the origins of Bordeaux's role in the video game industry date back to 1990 with the establishment of Kalisto Studio. This studio was responsible for creating the first video games labeled "Made in Bordeaux" for both computers and gaming consoles.

Kalisto Studio thus not only developed its own original games but also engaged in collaborations with notable entities. Their projects included the development and adaptation of original games.

Bordeaux's status in the video game industry was further solidified in 2017 with the establishment of a studio by the French industry giant Ubisoft. Indeed, the latter operates in nearly 50 countries and boasts over 45 branches and subsidiaries worldwide.
